چکیده
Abstract Two kinds of cermet powders, WC-10Co4Cr and WC-20CrC-7Ni, were deposited on 1040 steel via high velocity air fuel (HVAF) spraying to evaluate resistance in cavitation erosion conditions with additional electrochemical effects. Coating microstructure, phase composition, microhardness examined along the topography eroded surface layers. The WC-20CrC-7Ni coating was found be approximately 1.3 times greater than that other coating, which can attributed its finer grain structure, lower pore density, presence Cr Ni content feedstock powder serves strengthen matrix.

Effect of WC Concentration on Abrasive Wear Properties of the Thermally Sprayed WC -Ni Coatings
In this work the effects of WC concentration on abrasive wear behavior by thermally sprayed WC coating was evaluated using three body abrasive wear tester. A different combination of WC and NI coatings were deposited on steel substrates by flame spraying using powder with different WC concentrations (0 %, 12.5 %, 25 %, and 50 %). Flame torch was used for heating and coating of process. Microstr...
متن کاملResidual Stress in Ground WC-Co Coatings
High velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) spray technique is one of the leading technologies that have been proposed as an alternative to the replacement of electrolytic hard chromium plating in a number of engineering applications. In this study, WC-Co powder was coated on AISI1045 steel using high velocity oxy fuel (HVOF) method. The sinψ method was used to evaluate the through thickness residual stre...
متن کاملSynergistic effect of ultrasonic cavitation erosion and corrosion of WC-CoCr and FeCrSiBMn coatings prepared by HVOF spraying.
The high-velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF) spraying process was used to fabricate conventional WC-10Co-4Cr coatings and FeCrSiBMn amorphous/nanocrystalline coatings. The synergistic effect of cavitation erosion and corrosion of both coatings was investigated. The results showed that the WC-10Co-4Cr coating had better cavitation erosion-corrosion resistance than the FeCrSiBMn coating in 3.5 wt.% NaCl ...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Study of Residual Stress in the WC-12Co HVOF Sprayed Coatings
Thermally sprayed coatings are intrinsically associated with residual stresses in the deposits. These stresses are varied in nature and magnitude, and have a pronounced effect on the mechanical behavior of the system. In the current study, WC-12Co coatings were deposited using HVOF thermal spraying. The sin2ψ method was used to evaluate the through thickness residual stress by means ...
متن کاملFRACTURE AND FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF WC-Co AND WC-CoNi CEMENTED CARBIDES
The fracture and fatigue characteristics of several cemented carbide grades are investigated as a function of their microstructure. In doing so, the influence of binder chemical nature and content (Co and 76wt%Co-24wt%Ni), as well as carbide grain size on hardness, flexural strength, fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth (FCG) behavior is evaluated. Mechanical testing is combined with a d...
